Happy Second Opener!!!!

What a Crazy Year for Everyone!!!!!

We won’t spend anytime talking about the craziness of 2020 – We will go straight to the good POSITIVE things!!!!

We are BACK OPEN and all recreating in Inyo National Forest is allowed with a few restrictions (like No Campfires or open flames), but fishing, biking, hiking, enjoying yourself, bird watching, fall color peeping, and the most important – relaxing, are all allowed again.  Fishing opened back up yesterday, Saturday October 3rd and WOW, what a day it was.  We counted over 40 fish caught at Silver Lake that weighed in over 3 pounds come into our scales yesterday and with that we saw even more smiling, excited, happy people.  The fish had a lengthy 17 day vacation from anglers due to the US Forest Service shut downs and they were hungry and eager to let the anglers know they missed and appreciated their patience.  Anglers were rewarded with some big catches yesterday weighing in from 2 pounders to 6 pounders throughout the day and from shore and from a boat.  Anglers saw great success with all of the good old standards here at Silver Lake – Night Crawler, Berkley Pinch Crawlers and Power Baits and Thomas Buoyants Gold/Red all saw some good results.  The water is cooling off now that we are in October so the depth of the fish will continue to change as the weed line starts to diminish and the fish start feeding more.

We have also decided to push our season another week this year due to all the shutdowns throughout the season, so we will be open until Monday October 26 in our Cabins, RV Park, Marina, Store and Café.  Giving everyone a little extra time to come on up and get some fishing in and see some of the beautiful Fall colors which are starting to look spectacular and should continue to turn their gorgeous yellows and orange colors over the next few weeks.

While 2020 has been one of the craziest, hardest, most difficult years for everyone, we hope that things will only get better for everyone and you can all make one more trip to the Sierras to enjoy the beauty of Fall in the Eastern Sierra, The June Lake Loop and Silver Lake Resort.

Happy Fishing and Fall Color Peeping and We will see You at The Lake!!!
