Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 9/11 – 9/18/2016

The weather continues to cool off and the fishing continues to get hotter despite a full moon over this past week.  It didn’t hurt the catching side of fishing that DFW planted 400 pounds of 1 to 2 pounders on Tuesday and a load of 400 pounds of 2 to 4 pounders on Thursday from Desert Springs.  The fish are still somewhat deep in the cooler water but are starting to work their way closer to the surface with our cooler nights.  Anglers hit the big ones this week using Berkley Mice Tails and Pinch Crawlers from both the shore and a boat and also had some really good luck using the ever faithful Thomas Buoyant in a Gold/Red Pattern.  If you aren’t catching fish after the two loads put into Silver Lake this past week you are doing something wrong because they are out there!!!

With a month to go in the 2016 season and Fall knocking at the front door, don’t wait to long to get back up here before the season is gone.  Come on up and enjoy some great fishing and some spectacular Fall colors throughout the entire region as the Aspen trees start to change into their vibrant yellows and Oranges.  Almost time for all those crazy ducks to head South for the winter.  Look for things to really start to change over the next few weeks.  Come on up and enjoy all Mono County has to offer!!!

Fish of the Week:

Brett Camarata of Laguna Hills caught this nice 7 pound 6 ounce Rainbow caught in his float tube on Silver Lake using Night Crawlers.  Great fish!!!  The big ones are starting to surface!!!
