Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 9/13 – 9/21/22

The weather has quickly turned to Fall here at Silver Lake, which has only helped to make some good fishing even better.  The cooler, wet weather over the past week has helped turn the waters of Silver Lake a little cooler which should start to bring the big boys out of the deep waters and start feeding throughout the lake.  Prior to this little cool snap, the catching side of fishing was pretty decent over the past few weeks, thanks in part to three loads of fish brought in from Desert Springs since Labor Day and another load of catchables brought in by DFW.  We have seen some really good action on the new version of Berkley’s Mice Tails, which are now Garlic Infused like the Pinch Crawlers that always do real well here at Silver Lake.  Anglers have also seen some good results using other Berkley products like Chunky Cheese Gulp, Tequila Sunrise and Lime Twist just to name a few.  Still working on going deep will show the best results, usually about a 3 to 4 foot leader off the bottom, but don’t be afraid to switch things up as the weather continues to change and the water temps continue to cool down.  Tossing or trolling some flies like an Olive Matuka, Green Wooley Bugger, Pale Morning Dun or Red Humpy are always wise ideas on calmer days her at Silver Lake.

As the season starts to wind down with just about three weeks until we call it a season, make sure you get on up here at least one more time to enjoy the beauty of Silver Lake, the June Lake Loop and the Eastern Sierra

Silver Lake Resorts Store, Café, Boat Rentals, RV Park and Cabins all stay open until October 17th when we close for the season and hibernate for the winter so get on up here and enjoy the Fall in the Loop.

Fish of the Week:

Hank Greer of Canyon Lake with a beautiful 7 pound Rainbow caught on Silver Lake using an Black Matuka on his fly rod from shore.  Great catch Hank!!
