Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 9/1 – 9/8/24
What a great week plus up here at Silver Lake Resort. The Annual Chris Jones Scholarship Horseshoe Tournament and BBQ was a huge success on Labor Day Weekend and the fishing here at Silver Lake has been steadily getting better as we start the cool off and head into fall. A big part of the increase on the catching side of fishing is due to a few things… Cooler Waters, a few less anglers and a ton of fish being stocked into the lake. Over the past three weeks we have had over 5 loads of trout dumped in, one last week from Desert Springs in Oregon that Silver Lake Resort and the June Lake Trophy trout Program purchased and 4 loads of catchable trout from DFW both pan size and a ton of finger links that will continue to grow and get big!! Things should only continue to get better as Fall is in the air, the winds are blowing and we are starting to see some over night temps in the 30’s.
All the usual culprits have been doing well both on Rush Creek and in Silver Lake… Berkley, Berkley, Berkley!! Rainbow Glitter Garlic, Chartreuse Glitter Garlic, Pinch Crawlers, Mouse Tails, Chunky Cheese just to name a few of the top hitters and the Richardson Trout Attractant has been great and a fun and successful tournament held by them last weekend. Cooper Lamson drug in a 3 pound 4 oz Rainbow on Richardson Attractant with a tag in it and walked away with $500 cash!!
Fish of the Week:
The Katsuda Family have been visiting The Eastern Sierra and Silver Lake for decades and have always caught a lot of fish. This year Grandma Katsuda at age 104 landed a beautiful 2 pounder, plus a nice stringer full out on a boat on Silver Lake.
It just doesn’t get any better!
