Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 8/20 – 8/27/17

It is truly hard to explain how good the fishing has been this past week on Silver Lake!!!  Some of the words that come to mind are: Amazing, Outstanding, Unbelievable, Crazy, Marvelous, Fantastic, Overwhelming, Phenomenal, Staggering, and Spectacular, just to name a few!!!!  No Joke, this has been one of the best catching weeks we have had in as long as I can remember.  I know that it is mainly due to the 4,000 pound load of Rainbows we received from Desert Springs last week and who really cares why.  The most important thing is that it was a great week here at Silver Lake and the fishing as good as it has been has only been a bonus to the beauty of Carson Peak and Silver Lake in the background as you are reeling in lunker after lunker after lunker.  Most everything that anglers used this past week was successful, but our staples of Berkley products like Pinch Crawlers, Mice Tails and Garlic dough baits worked well, as did Night Crawlers, Thomas Buoyants, and Super Dupers all had their day in the sun this week.  There are still a ton of fish out in the lake so come on up and get you some great fishing and an even better vacation in the most beautiful area in the Eastern Sierra – Mono County!!!

If you can believe it, Labor Day is next weekend and we all know what that means – YEP – Our Annual Chris Jones Memorial Scholarship Horseshoe Tournament and BBQ on Saturday, September 2nd starting around 11AM.  The horseshoe tournament will be limited to the first 30 teams that sign up so don’t wait as it will fill up fast.  The BBQ will start about 12pm with raffles spread out throughout the day so come on down and enjoy the festivities!!
