Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 8/7 – 8/14/22

The catching side of fishing here at Silver Lake has been pretty darn good this past week, thanks in part to a nice load of 1,200 pounds of fish dumped in the Lake this past Tuesday from Desert Spring Trout Farm out of Oregon.  After a day or so for those beauties to settle in, we started to see some really nice fish come into the store, ranging from stringers up to some great 6 pounders.  Most anglers had the best luck using Berkley products in the mid-day and Night Crawlers, Lures and some flies early in the morning and late in the day.  Rainbow Glitter Garlic, Garlic, Chunky Cheese Gulp Garlic, Rainbow Candy Gulp Garlic and Gulp Pinch Crawlers all worked well this past week.  Using a 3 to 4 foot Leader Line off the bottom is a good rule of thumb this time of the season, as the water is still on the warmer side and everything is still deep.  We had a good amount of rain last week which also helped cool things down a little, but deep is best for a few more weeks.

The US Forest Service Public Boat Ramp and Parking Area are still closed for construction and I hate to say that it doesn’t appear that it will be completed this season.  Please remember that this is a US Forest Service site and not Silver Lake Resorts’.  While, believe me, we understand how frustrating this is, we have no say or control over it so please don’t take your frustrations out on us at the store.  Just think about how nice it will be when it is done!!

As summer starts to wind down and kids are starting to go back to school and we have had so many pictures taken this past week,  look for extra fish pictures coming out throughout the week!!

Also, don’t forget we will be wrapping up all of our scheduled events over the next several weeks.  We have a Pot Luck with Campfire Music with Coach Gault and Howard Fairchild scheduled in the RV Park, set for Tuesday, August 23rd from 4 to 7pm and we wrap up with our Horseshoe Tournament and BBQ on Saturday, September 3rd!! We limit the number of Horseshoe Teams to 32 and sell out every year, so if you are interested in playing in the World Famous Chris Jones Memorial Horseshoe Tournament, get signed up over in the RV Park office.

Still a lot of summer left before the seasons start to change, so get on up here and enjoy the beauty of Silver Lake Resort and the June Lake Loop!!

Happy Fishing and We Will See You at the Lake!!
