Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 8/24 – 8/31/23

As Summer begins to fade and we head towards the Fall Season here in the Eastern Sierra the fishing continues to be stellar here at Silver Lake and down on Rush Creek.  The mornings and evenings are starting to cool off but the days are still warm, which means that Mother Nature is starting to think about changing the weather pattern just a little.  This cooler evenings should only help with the catching side of fishing, as those trout should be up on the surface and feeding early in the mornings and late in the afternoons as the shadows are on the waters.  All the usual culprits have been doing well both on Rush Creek and in Silver Lake…  Berkley, Berkley, Berkley!!  Rainbow Glitter Garlic, Chartreuse Glitter Garlic, Pinch Crawlers, Mouse Tails, Chunky Cheese just to name a few of the top hitters.  Lots of fish to be had for everyone out there as DFW has been back to their normal stocking routine of once a week into Silver and an occasional drop into Rush Creek and we here at Silver Lake Resort dropped a huge load of 700 pounds of the big boys into the Lake this past week as well.  The only excuse you have to not catching any of these beauties is if you can’t get off work to get up here, other than that you should have no excuses!!!!

This Saturday, September 2nd is our Annual Chris Jones Memorial Horseshoe Tournament and BBQ so come on out and throw some shoes (limited to first 32 teams signed up) enjoy some BBQ of Hamburgers and Hotdogs and get some good raffle prizes and basket raffles between 11 am and 2 pm this Saturday!!   Come on out and help us support the Chris Jones Memorial Scholarship that is now in its 30th year of helping local graduating high school seniors at Lee Vining and mammoth High School with College!!  A Great Fun Filled Day!!

Happy Fishing and We Will See You at the Lake!!
