Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 8/11 – 8/18/18

As Schools start to go back into session, we thought we would dedicate this weeks fish report to all you kids of summer!!!  We hope that you all got some good fishing in, some great hiking or biking and some great camping in this summer.  Good Luck in School!!  Study hard and learn a ton of valuable information.

Fishing this week at Silver Lake was pretty good by anyone’s standards.  As we always do, we had those that complained they didn’t catch any fish but pictures don’t lie and a good healthy load of 400 pounds of Desert Springs Fish don’t hurt anything either.  75 fish went into the lake last Thursday from Desert Springs with a 5.3 pound average and that is exactly what we are seeing coming in.  Power Baits of all types, particularly with Garlic scent have been doing real well, as have Garlic Pinch Crawlers and Mice Tails.  Nothing new here, pretty standard for what has been working all season.

With only about 8 weeks left of the season here at Silver Lake left, make sure you get one last opportunity to come up to the Eastern Sierra and the beautiful June Lake Loop.

Don’t forget about our Annual Chris Jones Memorial Scholarship Horseshoe Tournament and BBQ which, as always, is scheduled for Saturday September 1st in our RV Park.  Horseshoe Tournament will be limited to the first 30 teams that sign up so don’t drag your feet, get signed up in the RV Park Office before the weekend.

Good Luck to all our Kids of Summer as you head back to School over the next few weeks.

Happy Fishing and We Will See You at The Lake!!

Fish of the Week:

Ryan Gill of Torrence with a little help from his sister had a great week here at Silver Lake when he caught this nice 5 pound 4 oz Rainbow fishing from shore on Silver Lake using an Orange Mouse Tail.  It was Ryan’s second big fish of the week, his first being a 5 pound 4 oz Rainbow.  Great Week for the Gill Family!!!
