Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 7/2 – 7/9/16
Last week was all about the kids fishing here at Silver Lake, well this week is all about our adults who act like kids here at Silver Lake. Our die hard Silver Lake Resort extended family had one heck of a week fishing in and around the area and had some incredible results. The regulars here at Silver Lake Resort hit the waters hard and they had great results with lots of big fish coming in all week from Silver Lake, Grant Lake and Rush Creek. Sometimes the knowledge of the area and those secrets spots pay of but what they were using is not a surprise as we have been seeing good results from all anglers who are using Berkley Mice Tails and Berkley Pinch Crawlers with Garlic. Whether you are fishing from the shore, a boat or the Creek fishing has been incredible. Bait Casters have done well using Berkley Power Baits in all flavors and colors and done well, fishing with Night Crawlers has also done well besides the Mice Tails and Pinch Crawlers we already talked about. If you like trolling keep staying relatively deep at about 4 colors and try using anything with some Red, Gold or Silver to help attract those big guys. Early and late, bring it near the surface and use some streamers like a Rainbow Hornberg or a Olive Matuka with a Red Gill. Our Fly Fishermen have continued to do well on some dry flies like a Sierra Brite Dot, a Mosquito and some Flying Black Ants both on Silver Lake and down on Rush Creek. Water levels continue to stay high as we are still seeing some great water coming in from the high country snowmelts. The water temps are looking great, at the surface the temps are around 53 degrees and just below the surface we are around 49 to 50 degrees. DFW put a nice load of catchables into both the Silver Lake and Rush Creek this past week and we are on schedule to receive fish next week and should continue on every week throughout the summer. The fishing is great and the water is perfect so come on up and enjoy all the beauty the Eastern Sierra and the June Lake Loop have to offer!!!
Happy Fishing and We Will See You at The Lake!!!
Fish of the Week:
The Always Semi-Famous “Big Fish” Bob was at it again this week when he hauled in these nice Rainbows weighing in at 2 pounds 1 ounces and 3 pounds even caught using a Berkley Pinch Crawler. Nice Job Bob!!!
