Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 7/27 – 8/5/19
The Fishing, which is always spectacular here at Silver Lake, was also accompanied by some decent Catching over the past week. If you were able to find the sweat spot in the depths of the lake you were happily rewarded with some really nice larger Rainbows, thanks in part to another load of Desert Springs Brutes that were put into the lake on Thursday. The water temperatures are still behind what they usually are with the late winter, but we are sitting between 57 and 60 degrees just below the water surface at the boat dock. With that said, think about going deeper as the water continues to warm up. As we talk about last week – worms have been dong great both in Silver Lake and Rush Creek, as have tossing a lure like a Thomas Buoyant Gold/Rd or their new Cut Throat Lure. Bait fishermen have seen some pretty good results using some of the new Power Baits like Bumble Bee or Silver Fleck or the standard Rainbow Glitter Garlic. Just keep switching up the length of your leader to find that depth were the big boys are hanging out. The Infamous Fien Family spent the past week up at Silver Lake and knocked them dead out on the lake in the evenings pulling some Olive Matuka and some Wooly Buggers. In short, if the Fien Family can catch them on Silver Lake, I’m pretty sure anyone can. Just keep the faith and try various things to be successful.
Summer is slowly starting to slip past us so make sure you get at least one more trip up to the beautiful Eastern Sierra and the June Lake Loop!!!
Happy Fishing and We Will See You at The Lake!!!!
Fish of the Week:
Frank Fernandez from Moore Park hooked into this Monster Brown weighing in at 8 pounds 5 oz trolling a Thomas Buoyant Gold/Red out on Silver Lake. The second big Brown caught out of Silver Lake over the past week. We have seen a lot of Browns caught over the past few weeks, in theory due to the cooler water temperatures!!! Whatever the reason maybe, it is nice to see some really nice Native Trout coming out of the Lake!!!
