Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 7/12 – 7/21/19
Pictures speak for themselves this week!!!
The weather is beautiful and the fishing is great, for most people, here at Silver Lake this past week. The water temperatures slowly continue to rise with it sitting in the neighborhood of 53 degrees, which has made fishing pretty good with a lot of nice 3 to 5 pound Rainbows being brought in and more Browns being caught in mid July then I can ever remember. A good reason that these nice rainbows have continued to be pulled out of Silver Lake is thanks to some great early season stocking by DFW and Desert Springs Hatchery out of Oregon. Look for things continue to stay good here at Silver Lake as we are expecting a few more loads of DFW and Desert Springs in the next few weeks. Anglers have continued to see success by switching up the length of their leaders and using Good Old Fashioned Night crawler worms, as well some of the new Berkley Power Baits, especially the Bumble Bee Flavor. As our air temperature continues to increase the fishing may begin to slow just slightly as the water temperature continues to increase and the lake will flip here soon, sending those trout to the bottom of the lake looking for the cooler waters. For now, however, they are still in the top to middle section of the lake water so it may take some searching to find the right depths they are at, but when you do you will be successful. The good news is that we know they are out there, you just need to come on up and find them!!! Summer is in full swing here at Silver Lake and the June Lake Loop so make sure you get up here and enjoy the beauty of the Eastern Sierra and the June Lake Loop!!
Happy Fishing and We Will See You at The Lake!!
Fish of the Week:
Richard Holmes of Yucaipa, hooked into this beautiful 5 pound 11 oz Brown Trout fishing from a boat on Silver Lake.
Richard was using the most consistent type of bait on Silver Lake right now – Night Crawler Worms!!!
Beautiful fish Richard!!
