Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 6/18 – 6/25/2016
This weeks fish report goes out to the semi-famous “Big Fish” Bob who said he didn’t see the fish report last week, even though I did it. Since Bob wasn’t privy to what was working out on the lake, rumor has it all he caught this week was a big stick. So pay attention Bob, here is the scoop on what is happening on Silver Lake.
As the weather started to warm up this week we started to see some much more consistent fishing here at Silver Lake. The water temperatures are starting to slowly warm which is helping to get the fish more active and on the prowl for the end of your line. Anglers are seeing some great action from both the shore and boats early in the morning using a Good Old Fashioned Night Crawler, as well as various Berkley products like Rainbow Glitter Garlic, Yellow Glitter Garlic and Lime Twist. Take your split shot down to the bottom of the lake and give it a healthy leader, about 40 to 48 inches to get it into the middle of the warmer waters. Berkley Mice Tails have also been doing extremely well fishing from the top down as well as the bottom of the lake up. As always Thomas Buoyant in Gold/Red have been working, as have a Silver Phoebe and Silver Kastmasters. The bugs have come out in full force over this past week and will continue to hatch as we are expecting some really warm weather over the next week. With a fly and bubble or traditional Fly Rod look at using a California Mosquito, Yellow Sally or a Sierra Brite Dot. Even throw on a dropper of a midge to help allure the fish up to the surface. DFW dumped in a nice load of catchables both in Rush Creek and into Silver Lake this past Tuesday and we are getting a healthy load of 200 pounds of 1 to 3 pounders and 200 pounds of 3 to 5 pounders this coming Monday from Desert Springs Hatchery out of Oregon so the fishing should only continue to be stellar as we continue to hit our normal stride for the summer. Silver Lake Resort’s Annual 4th of July Celebration is coming up soon, we will hold our Chris Jones Memorial Scholarship Horseshoe Tournament and BBQ on Monday July 4th starting at 11am so come on over and enjoy some good BBQ and some great Horseshoes.
Happy Fishing and We Will See You at The Lake!!!
“Big Fish” Bob, I Hope You Got The Inside Scoop This Week!!!
Fish of the Week:
Deidre Pfeifer and Lori Kramer hauled in these nice 2 pound 5 ounce, 1 pound 6 ounce, 1 pound and 3 pound 1 ounce Rainbows fishing from a float tube. They both withstood the crazy winds earlier in the week and the patients paid off as they were happily rewarded!! Nice Job Ladies!!
