Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 6/1 – 6/10/22

June 10, 2022 6:24 am by Andrew Jones

Well, it is starting to feel like summer up here in the beautiful June Lake Loop.  It is warming up, getting busier and all the trees and wildlife are starting to enjoy the warmth after a long, cold and windy Winter and Spring!!!  As we continue to get no stockings from the state, due to continued hatchery problems, we have stepped up our private stocking program here at Silver Lake Resort to try to help on the catching side of Fishing.  We received two loads of Desert Springs Rainbows over the past 10 days and it has really helped, as we have seen a number of really nice Rainbows being caught.  These Rainbows that are weighing anywhere from 2 to 5 pounds are the ones we planted from Desert Springs out of Oregon and we are seeing a few bigger 6 to 8 pound beauties come in as well.  As the water temperatures continue to warm up, the depth that the fish are hanging out will also continue to change.  Look to fish off the bottom, just above the weed line, a longer leader (4 to 5 Feet) will be best.  Power Baits like Rainbow Glitter Garlic, Salmon Peach and Garlic Flavors has continued to show great results, as has Berkley Pinch Crawlers and Mice Tails.  If you are a bug fisherman, oh boy did we have a hatch of mosquitos this past week, so look to use a fly or something like an Elks Hare Caddis or Red and Yellow Humpies.  As the norm of fishing and catching continues to change in todays new world, look to the deeper waters and longer leaders and make sure you pack your patience, as the days of limiting out without much effort are long gone!!!

Come join us this Saturday June 11th at 9am for our Annual Rush Creek Clean Up.  Meet in the Silver Lake Resort RV Park Picnic area and we will have raffles and BBQ Hotdogs for all who volunteer a little of their time to help keep Rush Creek and Silver Lake Area Clean and Pristine for all to enjoy.

Summer is here in full force, as schools get out and more and more people come up to enjoy the beauty of the Eastern Sierra and the June Lake Loop, so come on up and we look forward to seeing you!!

Happy Fishing and We Will See You at the Lake!!
