Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 5/19 – 5/27/24 – Memorial Weekend
Happy Memorial Weekend to everyone and especially all of our Military Personal currently and in the Past!!
We Thank You for Your Service!!!
If you were here and couldn’t catch a fish at Silver Lake this past weekend, I’m not sure what to tell you, as the fishing and catching was off the hook this weekend, largely in part to the 1,700 pounds the lake received earlier in the week – 700 pounds dropped by DFW and a whopping 1,000 pounds of fish brought in from Oregon courtesy of Mono County (500 pounds), June Lake Loop Trophy Trout Program (100 Pounds) and Silver Lake Resort (400 Pounds). On top of the great fishing in the Lake, the streams and creeks in the area Opened for the season and Rush Creek saw, some slower, but nice fishing. Great fishing in the area with lots of water in all lakes and streams and the beauty of the region – man it was a great weekend.
On the catching side of things, nothing new and exciting has emerged as better baits to use, but the old standard Berkley Products are still as consistent as always – Dough Baits with Glitter and Garlic, Garlic infused Pinch Crawlers and Garlic Mice Tails are still working great, as is the good old fashioned Worm. The water temp is still really cold with lots of snow melt going into the lakes so the game is the depth you are fishing at, keep changing it up until you find that sweet spot!!
Lots of fishing, Catching, hiking, biking or just relaxing to be had up here in the beautiful Eastern Sierra and the June Lake Loop. Hope to see you all one time or another throughout the season!!
Happy Fishing and We Will See You at the Lake!!
Fish of the Week:
Keegan Ellis of Sparks, NV had the “Fish of the Week” with a whopping 6 pound 14 oz Rainbow caught on the shore of Silver Lake using Berkley Pinch Crawlers – Great catch Keegan!!
