Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 4/30 – 5/6/2018

While all the die hard opening weekend fishermen left town, our really die-hard fishermen stayed around and battle the unpredictable weather that the beautiful Eastern Sierra can dish out.  We had a little of everything this week, in the form of weather, with some snow early in the week, some usual wind mid week and a gorgeous, sunny weekend to polish off an standard Spring week up here in the High Sierra.

Fishing this week was like the weather, up and down, side to side, good and bad.  However, if you stayed the course and put in some time you were probably rewarded by a nice 2 to 3 pound Rainbow.  Most of the action was being seen on good old Berkley Products, from Rainbow Glitter Garlic, to Rainbow Garlic Candy to Mice Tails of all colors.  Drowning a night crawler this time of year will generally show some decent results.  Remember, fishing doesn’t work like your cell phone with instant results.  Sometimes it just takes patience and attention to detail.  Remember, a bad day of fishing beats a good day of work!!!

Silver Lake is scheduled to get a load of catchables from DFW this coming week and as we continue to warm up and really get into Spring, we should see some more consistent catching results.

Happy Fishing and We Will See You at The Lake!!!

Fish of the Week:

Zephyr Wehrsphann of Alpine had a great day fishing from the shore of Silver Lake when he landed this nice 3 pound 1 oz Rainbow and another 2 pound 1 oz Rainbow using Berkley Mice Tails.  He told us it was the best day of his life.  Two Monster Rainbows and he got to miss school.  Another fisherman hooked by the catch!!!  Nice catch Zephyr!!!
