Fishing Reports

It is truly hard to explain how good the fishing has been this past week on Silver Lake!!!  Some of the words that come to mind are: Amazing, Outstanding, Unbelievable, Crazy, Marvelous, Fantastic, Overwhelming, Phenomenal, Staggering, and Spectacular, just to name a few!!!!  No Joke, this has been one of the best catching weeks we have had in as long as I can remember.  I…

There are only a few ways in which the fishing at Silver Lake could have improved over this past week and it happened!!!  A healthy load of 4,000 pounds of Desert Springs Rainbows was dumped into Silver Lake late Friday evening and it was like shooting fish in a barrel as these 1 to 3 pounders scattered throughout the lake.  Thanks to a Mono County…

As we begin to say good by to summer, this weeks Fishing Report goes out to all those kids that have to go back to school, kicking and screaming, in the next week or two.  As you head back to school and are sitting in class day dreaming, we hope you think about the great days of Summer spent in the Eastern High Sierra and…

Wow!!! What a week here at Silver Lake.  The water levels on the lake dropped about 2 feet this week as Southern California Edison slowed down the water flows coming through the dams at Rush Creek, the water temperature jumped from 54 degrees to hovering around 60 – 62 degrees, a few crazy rainstorms and we had a huge scare with a 400 plus acre fire…

The fishing on Silver Lake has continued to stay steady with some spots of brilliant fishing.  The lake continues to warm – 54 degrees – as the snow melt in the high country finally starts to slow, which is allowing our warmer days to heat that water.  As the lake continues to warm, look for fishing to continue to get better as those fish become…

The fishing at Silver Lake is starting to pick up as the lake continues to warm after a very long run off of snow melt from the high Sierras.  Water temperatures are still sitting in the low 50 degree range but the fish are getting more active and are starting to feed in some regular patterns throughout the lake.  We have been saying all season…

It has been an absolutely gorgeous week here at Silver Lake.  The 4th of July festivities were amazing, lots of fun and full of great BBQ, good music and great people!!!!  Our Annual Chris Jones Scholarship Horseshoe Tournament was a great event with 30 teams going after the much desired Mug and belt buckle, with The Stucky’s outlasting everyone to win the title for the second…

The fishing on Silver Lake has picked up nicely this past week with a number of very nice Rainbows being caught both on Silver Lake and Rush Creek throughout the week.  The past few weeks of warmer temperatures have helped to warm that lake water that was sitting at 46 to 48 degrees last week and is between 49 and 51 degrees this week which…

What a crazy week here at Silver Lake Resort!!!  Mother Nature decided to enforce her strength on us early this week with a huge rain storm on top of peak runoff that sent everyone scrambling to make sand bags to keep Alger Creek in its banks.  Without all the help of friends, family, co-workers and all lovers of Silver Lake chipping in to make a…
