The Fishing at Silver Lake was starting to turn the corner to really good early in the week then the weather changed and messed it all up. On Monday and Tuesday of this week when the weather was perfect we saw a lot of rally nice two to three pound Rainbows come into the store at Silver Lake Resort. Most anglers saw some good action both from the shore and from a boat on Silver Lake. The water temperature before this new storm was starting to warm up to around 48 degrees and things were picking up using Night Crawlers and Berkley Mice Tails but the storm that pushed in Wednesday through the weekend made fishing extremely tough with high winds and cold temperatures. If you can brave the cold weather and the winds, look for the action to continue to improve using Night Crawlers, Thomas Buoyant Gold/Red and after this cold snap I would start to look for a few bugs to start to hatch in the area. We are scheduled to get a load of DFW catchables this next week which should help keep the fishing and catching action strong. Water levels at Silver Lake are looking perfect as we have actually increased in lake level as we are getting a lot of fresh snow melt water out of Alger Creek so come on up and enjoy the beauty of Spring in the High Sierra of Mono County.
See You at The Lake!!!!
