Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 8/27 – 9/3/2017

Happy Labor Day Weekend!!!!  We, here at Silver Lake Resort, wish and hope that everyone had a glorious Holiday Weekend and whether you were fishing  or vacationing in the beautiful Eastern Sierra or spending time with friends and family, we thank each and everyone of you for all that you do to make our Nation a great place to live and raise a family!!!!

The fishing at Silver Lake did slow down a little this week, as expected, but was still relatively strong early in the mornings and late in the afternoons when the sun was not beating on the lake making it warm.  The fish have stayed down deeper looking for that cooler band of water and coming towards the surface early and late in the day.  Anglers saw some great results this week using most all Berkley products like Garlic, Rainbow Glitter Garlic, Chartreuse Garlic, Mice Tails, Garlic Pinch crawlers and good old natural worms.  Stretching out your leader to 4 to 5 feet seemed to show the best results as those weeds on the bottom of the lake are growing taller as summer begins to fade into fall.  Lures with pinks and reds have also done very well, as have Tasmanian Devils like a Pink Fish, a Bleeding Flamingo or a Pink Lady.  Dry flies are still doing very well on Silver and Rush with the likes of a Grey Hackle Peacock, a Mosquito or a Sierra Brite Dot.  Think about using a dropper like a Cooper John or a Zebra Midge to help bring the action closer to the surface.  The fish are out there and as things continue to cool off should continue to stay strong.

Thanks to everyone who helped make our annual Chris Jones Memorial Scholarship Horseshoe Tournament and BBQ another huge success.  With a sold out field of 30 teams, tons of great raffle prizes and some of the best burgers, hot dogs and nachos in the area, a great time was had by all.  All proceeds from this events goes directly to a local graduating high school student for a college scholarship.  Thanks again to everyone for the generous support!!!!  It warms the heart to see all our friends, family and customers come together for such a great cause!!!!   Thank You, Thank You Thank You!!!!

Don’t forget, we aren’t done with the season just yet.  Good Livin will be playing some great live music next Saturday September 9th from 5 to 7 in our RV park.   Come on out and enjoy great music and s’mores!!!

Happy Fishing and We Will See You at the Lake!!!
