Silver Lake Resort Fishing Report 5/1 – 5/15/2016

The Fishing at Silver Lake is starting to get going as we saw a lot of nice quality fish this past week.  The water temperature is slowly starting to warm up and the fish are getting a little more active and showing some good signs for fishermen both from the shore and a boat on Silver Lake.  Much of this increased action is due in part to a nice load of larger 2 to 3 pound Rainbows stocked by Desert Springs hatchery and also a load of DFW catchables stocked this past week as well.  Anglers have seen some good luck with a good dose of patients while using good old Fashioned Night Crawlers and also some good signs with Power Baits with Garlic in it.  If you like to use a lure The Thomas Buoyant in Gold/Red is always a good option and look for some bug action to begin to show signs as the weather continues to warm up and we get past the freezing nights.  Look for another load of DFW catchables to be stocked next week as well as Rush Creek.  The fish are out there and waiting, so come on up and give it a try.  Don’t be afraid to use what you have as the fish don’t always know what is the hot bait and are always willing to try something new, something old and maybe something that is on the end of your line.  You never know until you give it a try.

Fish of the Week:

Steve Cullity of Chino had the biggest catch this week when he brought in this nice 5 pound 8 ounce Rainbow caught from the shore of Silver Lake using Cheese Power Bait.  Nice job Steve!!!
